About
Dr Diana Holdright's clinical practice encompasses all aspects of adult cardiology, in particular the management of ischaemic heart disease (angina, coronary artery disease, and heart attacks), the role of percutaneous coronary intervention (coronary angioplasty/stenting and coronary artery bypass grafting), the management of valvular heart disease and heart failure, the investigation and treatment of heart rhythm disorders such as atrial fibrillation, and cardiovascular risk factor assessment.
Dr Holdright was key in establishing coronary angioplasty as the first-line treatment in the management of myocardial infarction (heart attack), leading to the institution of Heart Attack Centres across London and the UK. She also spent many years as cardiologist to the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery where she gained significant experience in many areas including managing blackouts and dizzy spells, the cardiac causes of stroke and assessing cardiac risk in epilepsy.
Dr Holdright received her medical degree from University College London (UCL) in 1984, having received a BSc in Human Genetics three years earlier. She completed her postgraduate cardiology training at a number of London hospitals including The National Heart Hospital, The London Chest Hospital, The Royal Brompton Hospital, and UCL Hospitals.
Dr Holdright has been a consultant cardiologist since 1997 and has over 25 years' experience as a consultant with her own private practice.
