Since 2009, he has been Chairman of The London Clinic Skin Cancer Multidisciplinary Team (MDT). In 2015, his own purpose-designed consulting rooms were opened at 27 Devonshire Place beside The London Clinic.
Scientific literature: CRP was a co-author of the first paper in the world literature (1985) to describe the skin manifestations of AIDS & HIV. His work on nodular prurigo is the standard reference. For "Bimodality in age of onset of psoriasis, in both patients and their relatives", with others, he won the British Association of Dermatologists' biennial Wycombe Chair and Prize for 1993 & 1994 ("awarded for an outstanding contribution to dermatology published from a non-teaching centre"). He was co-author of seminal work from Paris on toxic epidermal necrolysis. Rowland Payne's syndrome (Horner's with ipsilateral phrenic and vocal cord palsies) appears in standard textbooks of neurology and is listed in Magalini's Dictionary of Medical Syndromes. He coined the terms and wrote the original descriptions of the "Sunbed Suntan SacroScapular Sparing Sign", the "cornflake sign" (in Kyrle-Flegel disease) and the "deckchair sign" (in papuloerytheroderma).
