Rowland Payne's syndrome (Horner's with ipsilateral phrenic and vocal cord palsies) appears in standard textbooks of neurology and is listed in Magalini's Dictionary of Medical Syndromes. He coined the terms and wrote the original descriptions of the "Sunbed Suntan SacroScapular Sparing Sign", the "cornflake sign" (in Kyrle-Flegel disease) and the "deckchair sign" (in papuloerytheroderma).
