About

Dr Christina Choy, Consultant Breast Surgeon, sees patients in a private capacity at several London-based hospitals including The Princess Grace Hospital, The Harley Street Diagnostic Centre, the Lister Hospital, and the Chiswick Medical Centre. She is highly specialised in breast surgery and reconstructive breast surgery. She has experience in a wide range of reconstructive procedures like breast conservation surgery with oncoplastic technique, mastectomy with skin and nipple-sparing with reconstruction, fat transfer, sentinel node biopsy with dual localization, wire-guided/wireless localization procedure. She is also an expert in performing aesthetic procedures like breast reductions, augmentations, and uplifts. Other services she offers are assessments for breast pain, nipple discharge mastitis, and lumps, as well as genetic screening.
Dr Choy began her medical education in Australia, graduating with a Bachelors in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Sydney. She then proceeded to undertake specialist training in Australia and Hong-Kong, before moving to the UK. In the UK she did a fellowship at St Bartholomew's Hospital and the Royal Marsden Hospital, before being offered a consultant position at St Bartholomew's. She gained invaluable experience working as a substantive consultant Oncoplastic breast surgeon for over 14 years at Homerton University Hospital. She further developed her knowledge when working alongside a multi-disciplinary team in the London Breast Institute, learning from excellent breast care nurses, pathologists, oncologists, and radiologists.
Dr Choy is also an active researcher, who is currently researching the genetic aspect of breast cancer by studying gene arrays and studying data of young women of Afro-Caribbean origin with breast cancer. She also has research interests in the ethnic barriers affecting women in accessing early breast cancer diagnosis, with a long-term goal of dissolving said barriers and enabling easier access to healthcare. She is a fully registered surgeon with the GMC and holds board registrations in Hong Kong and Australia. Dr Choy is a fluent English and Chinese speaker.

“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
