About Dr Charlot Grech
Dr. Charlot Grech is a highly experienced Consultant Dermatologist, providing expert dermatology consultations and treatments at Spire Alexandra Hospital in Chatham, Kent, Spire Hartswood Hospital in Brentwood, Essex, and Spire Wellesley Hospital in Southend, Essex. With a wealth of experience gained over two decades, Dr. Grech has trained at the Birmingham Skin Hospital in the West Midlands and Southampton University Hospitals, developing a specialisation in a broad range of skin conditions and dermatological treatments. Dr. Grech offers rapid access to diagnosis and treatment for various skin conditions, including eczema (dermatitis), acne, pre-cancerous lesions, skin allergies, treatment of warts, psoriasis, moles, solar keratoses, as well as diseases of the hair and nails. He arranges allergy patch testing for patients with contact dermatitis and provides PUVA (light) therapy for patients suffering from eczema and psoriasis. A key aspect of Dr. Grech’s practice is his proficiency in surgical dermatology. He performs over 600 excisions of benign and malignant skin lesions annually. With over 20 years of experience, he is renowned for his expertise in managing complex dermatological cases. Dr. Grech began his consultant career in 1998 at the Medway Maritime NHS Foundation Trust in Kent, where he was instrumental in establishing the Melanoma Screening Clinic, designed to fast-track patients with suspected skin cancer. He later served as the Clinical Lead for Dermatology at Basildon and Thurrock NHS Foundation Trust, and returned to Medway Trust in 2012, where he now works primarily in the private healthcare sector. Dr. Grech runs a busy dermatology practice in Essex and Kent, working closely with GPs, consultant physicians, surgeons, and pathologists to provide comprehensive care. He is also dedicated to education, running workshops, lectures, and tutorials for general practitioners in his local area. With extensive surgical dermatology training and years of collaboration with plastic surgeons in skin cancer care, Dr. Grech has an excellent track record in treating skin cancer patients. He was the lead for the skin cancer MDT in Essex between 2007 and 2010 and served as the dermatology representative on the Pan-Essex cancer network team. Dr. Grech welcomes self-referrals for private treatment, allowing patients to directly book consultations without the need for a GP letter of referral. His practice is highly regarded for its comprehensive care, patient-centred approach, and expertise in treating both common and complex dermatological conditions.
"Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions."
