About Dr Alamgir Kabir
Dr Alamgir Kabir is a highly experienced Consultant Cardiologist with specialist expertise in adult congenital heart disease and interventional cardiology. He qualified in medicine from the University of London in 1996 and went on to complete a PhD at King’s College London, focusing on ischaemic preconditioning. In 2014, he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP), reflecting his significant contribution to the field. Dr Kabir trained in cardiology at leading institutions including St Bartholomew’s Hospital, the London Chest Hospital, and The Heart Hospital. He manages a wide range of cardiovascular conditions, including congenital heart disease, angina, coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, and heart rhythm disorders. His practice is underpinned by a holistic, patient-centred approach, ensuring individuals feel heard and fully informed about their diagnosis and treatment options. He performs a high volume of procedures annually, carrying out approximately 500 coronary angiograms and 300 coronary angioplasties each year. Alongside his clinical work, he is actively involved in teaching, training junior doctors and delivering lectures for professional examinations. Dr Kabir has also published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and presented his research at international conferences. Outside of medicine, he enjoys family life and practising the Korean martial art Kuk Sool Won.
