Mr Dong Park

Mr Dong Park is a double board certified Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon and an Honorary Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Warwick. He practices at the The Meriden Hospital, the Midland Eye private clinic, and the Retina Clinic London, Harley Street, and his current NHS posts include University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire NHS Trust and the Birmingham & Midland Eye Centre. His areas of interest include Micro-incision cataract surgery incl. premium lens implant ; Complex cataracts & secondary lens implant complications; Vitreoretinal surgery & Retinal detachment and Macular degeneration & disorders like macular holes or Epiretinal membrane. Mr Park qualified in Medicine with BSc (Med Sci) & MB ChB degrees at the University of Manchester in 2006. He is currently on the specialist register after completion of ophthalmology specialty training at the prestigious Manchester Royal Eye Hospital, the #1 eye hospital in the UK (Newsweek, The World's Best Hospitals 2019), and in 2015 he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologist and the European Board of Ophthalmology. Mr Park then completed additional 3 years of higher sub-specialty fellowship training with advanced post-CCT Vitreoretinal Surgery Fellowships at the Manchester University NHS Trust and the Imperial College London Healthcare NHS Trust. Mr Park's surgical expertise encompasses all aspects of Cataract and Retinal surgery, and he is known for providing patients with safe, effective, and minimally invasive treatment for comprehensive eye conditions. In addition, Mr Park is a Honorary Associate Professor and Clinical Tutor at the Warwick Medical School, University of Warwick. He teaches Medical students, Ophthalmology trainees, and Optometrists, and is a trainer for cataract and vitreoretinal surgery. He is also a keen researcher who has many peer-reviewed publications and has presented nationally and internationally.
