About Mr David Tighe
Mr David Tighe is an experienced Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon at Spencer Private Hospitals Margate, Ashford and Canterbury with over 10 years of experience. He completed his medical degree at the University of Leicester in 2002 followed by his dental training at King’s College London Dental School in 2010. In 2015, Mr Tighe was awarded his Fellowship of the Faculty of Dentistry of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, as well as his Fellowship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Mr Tighe specialises in a wide array of areas within his field, including facial surgery, facial reconstruction, facial skin cancer, mouth cancer, mouth reconstruction, jaw cancer, jaw reconstruction, facial implants, facial trauma, facial pain, jaw joint pain and oral medicine (in particular, oral mucosal ulceration).
Mr Tighe is a strong advocate for elevating the quality of care in oral and maxillofacial surgery and has made significant contributions. He leads the largest project for Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons in the UK, the Quality Outcomes in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery report and has co-authored it's two national reports.
Alongside his clinical work, Mr Tighe has authored several peer-reviewed papers which have played a role in developing risk-adjustment processes now embedded in the QOMS audit.
He leads the Head & Neck and Reconstructive Maxillofacial Service in East Kent.
