About A/Prof David Pook
Associate Professor David Pook is a medical oncologist specialising in the treatment of cancers affecting the kidney, bladder, prostate, testicles, and bowel. He practises at Cabrini Malvern where he admits patients and facilitates their enrolment in clinical trials, both at Cabrini and the Monash Cancer Centre. In addition to his clinical practice, A/Prof Pook serves as a Clinical Research Fellow within the Prostate and Breast Cancer Research Group at Monash University. His research focuses on advancing treatments for urological cancers through international clinical trials involving experimental drugs and innovative combinations of immune therapies. He plays a pivotal role in developing prostate cancer models for testing novel treatments at Monash University. A/Prof Pook also holds the position of Deputy Chair of the Kidney Cancer Subcommittee within the Australia and New Zealand Urological and Prostate Cancer Trials Group. His educational background includes a Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Medical Oncology from the University of Melbourne. He obtained his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Medical Oncology after completing his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor of Medical Science (BMedSci) in Virology at the University of Tasmania. Associate Professor David Pook is dedicated to improving patient care through his clinical expertise, research contributions, and leadership in oncology.
