About Dr Cuneyt Ada

Dr Cuneyt Ada is an Interventional Cardiologist and Head of Coronary Intervention at Macquarie University Hospital, as well as a Staff Specialist in Interventional Cardiology at Concord Hospital. He is widely recognised for his expertise in complex coronary stenting procedures, including the management of challenging coronary artery disease cases such as patients declined for coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) and those with chronically occluded vessels (CTO). He has particular expertise in the use of advanced intravascular imaging techniques, including intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) and optical coherence tomography (OCT), which enable highly precise and personalised stent placement. In addition to his clinical work, Dr Ada is actively involved in teaching and research. He regularly lectures to cardiologists both within Australia and internationally, focusing on complex percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), microvascular dysfunction and the application of advanced intracoronary imaging technologies. His work contributes to advancing interventional cardiology techniques and improving outcomes for patients with complex coronary disease. Dr Ada also has experience in medicolegal practice and provides expert witness reports for a range of cardiology-related matters, including both general and interventional cardiology cases. Dr Ada completed a Bachelor of Medical Science and a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the University of Sydney. He undertook his basic physician training at Concord Hospital before completing advanced cardiology training at Westmead Hospital. He subsequently completed a PhD in coronary physiology through Concord Hospital at the University of Sydney. To further develop his expertise, he undertook an overseas fellowship in Complex Coronary Intervention in Wellington, New Zealand, under the mentorship of Professor Scott Harding.

"Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions."
