About Dr Charles Heriot-Maitland
Dr Charles Heriot-Maitland is a clinical psychologist, researcher and trainer. They completed their clinical psychology training at the University of Oxford. Dr Heriot-Maitland provides therapy, supervision, and consultation. They have also run over a hundred various compassion training workshops both nationally and internationally. Their academic interests include understanding the role of trauma and compassion in psychosis. They have spent several years researching the application of Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT) for people with distressing experiences associated with psychosis. Dr Heriot-Maitland has authored a number of research papers and book chapters, has given numerous invited talks, and regularly runs compassion training workshops for professionals and for the general public, both nationally and internationally.
