Dr Charankumal Singh Thandi

Dr Charan Singh Thandi is a Consultant Dermatologist based in Bristol and Swindon, with clinical expertise spanning skin cancer management, skin surgery, and laser treatments for a wide range of dermatological conditions. In addition to his private practice, he holds a substantive consultant position within the NHS, where he plays a key role in managing complex cases related to skin cancer, performing advanced surgical procedures, and delivering laser-based therapies for both medical and aesthetic purposes. Dr Thandi’s clinical interests include skin cancer diagnosis and treatment, skin surgery involving grafts and flap repairs, laser surgery, acne management, scar treatments, hair loss, and general dermatology. He has a particular interest in aesthetic dermatology, offering laser interventions for both therapeutic and cosmetic outcomes. Dr Thandi is active in dermatological research and education. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and presented his work at major international conferences such as the World Dermatology Congress in Singapore, the British Association of Dermatologists Annual Meeting, and the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology in Italy. His research includes the management of keloid scars, the role of written action plans for atopic dermatitis, and the use of carbon dioxide lasers in burn care. His academic contributions have been recognised through awards at international scientific forums. In the NHS, Dr Thandi also serves as the Educational Lead for his department and acts as both an educational and clinical supervisor for dermatology trainees, supporting their development and clinical education. He is a member of several professional organisations, including the British Association of Dermatologists, the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, the Royal College of Physicians, the Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners, and the British Medical Association.
