About Mr Caesar Wek
Mr Caesar Wek is a Consultant Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon based in Dorset, specialising in primary and revision hip and knee replacement surgery. He works at Dorset County Hospital, where he serves as Orthopaedic Clinical Lead for Trauma and Hip Fractures, and also consults privately at The Winterbourne Hospital in Dorchester, where he welcomes both insured and self-funding patients. Mr Wek offers evidence-based treatments including hip replacement, revision hip surgery, knee replacement, and hip injections. He is among the few surgeons in Dorset skilled in minimally invasive small-scar hip replacement techniques, such as SPAIRE and piriformis-sparing approaches, which support faster recovery and improved post-operative comfort. His patient-centred philosophy emphasises clear communication, calm and compassionate care, and ensuring each patient fully understands their treatment options. With over 16 years of clinical experience, Mr Wek completed dual fellowship training in complex hip and knee surgery, including the Royal Bournemouth Complex Primary and Revision Hip Fellowship and the Revision Hip & Knee Arthroplasty Fellowship at St George’s Hospital, London. He also served as an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry and regularly teaches on national and regional orthopaedic training programmes. His research contributions include international conference presentations and publications, as well as a co-authored chapter on minimally invasive hip arthroplasty in Hip Arthroplasty: Current and Future Directions (2023). Mr Wek is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and an active member of the British Orthopaedic Association, the British Hip Society, and World Orthopaedic Concern.
"Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions."
