About Dr Attila Yetkil
Dr. Attila Yetkil is a highly experienced Consultant Psychiatrist with a dedicated focus on the mental health and well-being of older adults. With over a decade of clinical experience in Psychiatry, he has worked extensively in both community outpatient clinics and hospital inpatient settings within the NHS. His expertise spans a wide range of mental health challenges faced by older adults, including dementia, depression, anxiety, and age-related psychiatric conditions. Dr. Yetkil is a respected member of both The Royal College of Psychiatrists and The European Association of Geriatric Psychiatry. His medical qualifications include a degree in Medicine from University College London (MBBS) and a Bachelor of Science (BSc Hons) in Biochemistry from the University of Leeds. His advanced psychiatric training through the Royal College of Psychiatrists has earned him the status of Member (MRCPsych). Additionally, he is accredited under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act as an Approved Clinician, which enables him to assess and manage complex mental health conditions. Currently, Dr. Yetkil serves as a Substantive Consultant Old Age Psychiatrist in the NHS, where he works across a variety of healthcare settings, including memory clinics, community mental health teams, and inpatient units. His compassionate and patient-centered approach ensures that older adults receive personalised care that addresses both their mental health and overall quality of life. Dr. Yetkil is also an accomplished educator and researcher, contributing to medical literature and publishing research on mental health care in rehabilitation settings. He regularly delivers training to healthcare professionals, sharing his knowledge and promoting best practices in geriatric psychiatry. Dr. Yetkil’s mission is to build stronger, healthier, and more cohesive communities by addressing the unique mental health needs of older adults.
