About Dr Asad Khan
Dr Asad Fahim Khan (BSc, MBBS, MRCP, PGCert) is a consultant rheumatologist at University Hospitals Birmingham. Based at Solihull Hospital, he is the current Clinical Service Lead for Rheumatology, and is privileged to work alongside an outpatient team that was recently rated "Outstanding" by the CQC. Dr Khan qualified in medicine from Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2005, along with a degree in immunology. His interests in musculoskeletal medicine and autoimmune disease naturally led him to pursue his career specialisation. He trained in general internal medicine and rheumatology across London and the East of England and, after a one-year stint as a research fellow, took up his present NHS consultant position in 2015. His practice is founded on rational diagnosis with carefully selected investigations and pragmatic, outcome‑focused treatment that respects each patient’s priorities. Dr Khan has specialist interest in the full spectrum of rheumatological conditions, including particularly inflammatory arthritis, autoimmune diseases, osteoporosis and gout/crystal arthritis. Dr Khan offers private consultations and treatment at the excellent facilities of the Harborne Hospital and Priory Hospital in Birmingham, and the MUMS clinic in Solihull. His practice is recognised by all major UK insurers, including Aviva, AXA, BUPA, Vitality Health and WPA. Remote consultations (telephone/video) are also offered.
"Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions."
