About Dr Anton Peleg
Dr Anton Peleg is an infectious diseases physician. Dr Peleg has a particular interest in complex infections in highly vulnerable patient groups. Dr Peleg's research spans clinical to basic research, with a focus on hospital-acquired infections, antimicrobial resistance, infections in immunocompromised hosts and understanding mechanisms of disease caused by hospital pathogens. Dr Peleg's laboratory research program focuses on the mechanisms of pathogenesis of important hospital-acquired pathogens. The laboratory combines state-of-the-art sequencing technologies and targeted bacterial and fungal genetic techniques with in vivo infection model systems to characterise the role of novel genes in virulence and antimicrobial resistance.
"Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions."
