About Dr Anil Kodagalli
Dr Kodagalli is a senior general adult consultant psychiatrist with over 21 years of clinical and academic experience in mental health. He has worked as a consultant psychiatrist within adult mental health for over 11 years, entirely within the NHS. In addition to his NHS experience, he holds private practice privileges as a visiting consultant psychiatrist at Priory Wellbeing Centre in Southampton, where he began in July 2024. He is also an international visiting consultant for the Dubai Health Authority in the United Arab Emirates. He specialises in the assessment and management of a wide range of mental health conditions. His expertise includes mood disorders such as depression and bipolar disorder, psychotic disorders, anxiety disorders, phobias, somatoform disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), eating disorders, perinatal mental health disorders, personality disorders, organic and cognitive disorders, and some neuropsychiatric manifestations. He also has a particular interest in neurodevelopmental disorders, holding a diploma in the Awareness of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder Certified Clinical Service Provider (ADHDCCSP) and accreditation as a specialist in the assessment and recommendation for autism. Dr Kodagalli trained within the Wessex Deanery, which serves a diverse population across Hampshire and Dorset. He holds specialist registration and a full licence to practise with the General Medical Council (GMC) in adult mental health. He is a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (FRCPsych) in 2023, a prestigious recognition of his contributions to psychiatry and clinical excellence. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to research, management, and clinical governance, with his work published in several evidence-based journals and online platforms. His research has focused on patient-reported outcome measures in psychiatric practice and the monitoring of electrocardiograms in service users on high-dose methadone substitution therapy. Throughout his career, Dr Kodagalli has received significant accolades, including the Excellent Clinical Supervisor Award from the Wessex Deanery and successful GMC revalidations. His academic contributions include peer-reviewed and online publications, e-learning modules, poster presentations, and involvement in service improvement, quality improvement, and clinical governance projects.
