About
Mr Elder completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree at the University of Liverpool in 1998 followed by his training in restorative dentistry at Bart's and The London NHS Trust. He was later awarded his Membership with the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2000 followed by an Intercollegiate Fellowship in Restorative Dentistry with the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Since then, Mr Elder held the position of locum consultant in the Endodontic Department at the Eastman Dental Hospital. In 2009, he was appointed as a Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at East Kent University NHS Foundation Trust. His primary objective was to establish a new NHS Restorative Dentistry service, specifically designed to support orthodontic and maxillofacial surgery services. This service caters to high-priority and complex patients as identified by the local Primary Care NHS Trust.
In his current clinical practice, Mr Elder offers a wide range of restorative dental services, including: crowns, bridges, dentures, root canal treatment, veneers, smile makeover, dental implants, teeth whitening and gingival surgery.
Alongside his clinical work, Mr Elder is actively engaged in postgraduate teaching for general dental practitioners, foundation trainees, and prosthodontic specialist trainees as a Clinical Teacher at Guy’s Hospital. He is also an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons MJDF examination.
“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
