Prof. Dr. med. Alexander Chaolai Meng ist Facharzt für Neurologie und Psychiatrie. Er ist Mitglied der Österreichischen Gesellschaft für Akupunktur und erster Präsident-Stellvertreter des Dachverbandes österreichischer Ärztinnen und Ärzte für Ganzheitsmedizin. Darüber hinaus ist er Executive Council Member of the 4th Board of Specialty Committee of TCM Psychology of WFCMS. Prof. Dr. med. Meng war als Lektor an der FH-Campus Wien im Bereich Physiotherapie (Bachelor-Studium) tätig. Er hat mehrere anerkannte Fachbücher und Patientenratgeber zu den Themen Akupunktur, TCM, Tuina und Akupressur verfasst.
Prof. Dr. med. Alexander Chaolai Meng absolvierte sein Medizinstudium an der medizinischen Fakultät der Universität Wien und promovierte im Jahr 1975 zum Dr. med. univ. Im Jahr 1982 folgte die Facharztprüfung für Neurologie und Psychiatrie.
Zusätzlich zu seiner medizinischen Ausbildung engagiert sich Prof. Dr. med. Meng seit 1972 aktiv im Ludwig Boltzmann Institut für Akupunktur. Im Jahr 1975 gründete und leitete er den Österreichischen Arbeitskreis für Tuina-Therapie. Für seine wissenschaftliche Arbeit wurde er 1983 und 1987 mit dem Prof. Alfred Pischinger Akupunktur-Preis ausgezeichnet.
Von 2006 bis 2015 war Prof. Dr. med. Meng Vice Chairman of Specialty Committee of TCM Psychology of World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies (WFCMS) und von 2015 bis 2019 Board Member of Specialty Committee of TCM Psychology of WFCMS.
