Mr Khan read medicine at Brasenose College, Oxford before completing his specialist training in Plastic surgery in the London Deanery. He is fellowship trained in both reconstructive and aesthetic surgery, having completed a nationally-appointed fellowship in aesthetic surgery in London, and an international fellowship in reconstructive microsurgery at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, USA. His specialist interests include all aspects of breast reconstruction, surgery for lymphoedema, reconstruction after cancer surgery and aesthetic surgery of the breast and body. His research interests include breast implants and implant capsule biology, including BIA-ALCL.
