Mr Ratnarajan's journey to becoming a leading figure in ophthalmic care began with his graduation from University College London followed by his comprehensive specialist training in ophthalmology in Oxford. He later pursued a research MD at The Institute of Ophthalmology and Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. Through his research, he achieved tangible improvements in patient safety and reduced waiting times for glaucoma patients, contributing significantly to the field.
Mr Ratnarajan is one of few surgeons worldwide who has completed fellowship training in glaucoma, complex cataract procedures, and anterior segment reconstructive surgery. This extensive training was acquired through specialised fellowships at The Oxford Eye Hospital, The Western Eye Hospital in London, and a fellowship at the University of Toronto, Canada. During these fellowships, he not only acquired invaluable skills but also pioneered innovative glaucoma surgeries in the UK.
