Brilliant Being is a medical weight management clinic founded by A/Prof Roland McCallum, one of Tasmania’s leading weight loss experts. His approach is supportive and stigma-free, combining the latest drug-based breakthroughs, dietary guidance, and behavioural trigger identification to create a personalised pathway to healthy, sustainable weight management. Recognising that every individual is already a brilliant being regardless of shape or size, the clinic helps patients become healthier, happier versions of themselves, allowing their inner brilliance to shine through.
At Brilliant Being, patients are seen by a team of GPs with a special interest in obesity management who assess each individual’s unique circumstances, behaviours, and goals. The clinic provides a science-based, holistic approach to weight loss, encouraging patients to engage with a multidisciplinary team that includes dietitians, psychologists, and nurse practitioners. Medications, whether individual or in combination, are prescribed while triggers for weight gain are identified through regular nursing reviews.
A/Prof McCallum established this specialist, team-based service inspired by the methodology of Emeritus Professor Joe Proietto.
