About

Dr. Fiona Paton is a Counselling Psychologist at Dynamic Change Consultants (DCC), registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and chartered by the British Psychological Society (BPS).

Fiona over 20 years of clinical experience including work within the NHS, and private sectors. In addition to her UK-based work, she has spent several years working overseas for International SOS, consulting for one of their major international client companies in an extreme and remote area of Indonesia. As part of this role, she worked with expatriates living and working in adverse and often conditions. She was able to work with diverse audiences, giving her extensive experience and exposure to wide-ranging groups.

Fiona focuses on an integrative style, using a number of therapeutic approaches and tailoring these towards the needs of her clients. She is trained in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). She has extensive experience working with trauma across a variety of settings from industrial accident and terrorism to sexual abuse and assault. She is also qualified in clinical hypnosis which is a further methodology she is able to utilise with clients if appropriate.

Fiona is passionate about empowering clients to become more resilient and helping them to develop their own strengths to overcome future adversity. She also has a particular interest in working with clients struggling with health difficulties. She has worked extensively in the field of psychosexual medicine and with survivors of rape and sexual abuse and has a gentle, respectful but practical approach to intimate issues. Her therapeutic style is calm, adaptable, and client-focused, making her an invaluable resource for navigating complex challenges.

“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
