Miss Lydia Chang

Miss Lydia Chang is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon with subspecialty expertise in glaucoma. She trained at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London and attained consultant status in 2008. She also completed her advanced glaucoma fellowship at Moorfields. Her research doctorate at the Institute of Ophthalmology in London focused on glaucoma surgery. Miss Chang regularly performs cataract surgery and a full range of glaucoma procedures. She has a particular interest in modern glaucoma interventions, including minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) such as iStent® implantation, as well as laser treatments including laser iridotomy and selective laser trabeculoplasty. Her posterior capsule rupture rate for cataract surgery is well within the national average, as measured by the National Ophthalmology Database Audit Report. She is highly experienced in assessing and managing glaucoma, from straightforward cases to complex, higher-risk patients. Using advanced diagnostic technologies, she provides thorough evaluation and tailored treatment plans. Alongside her technical expertise, she is committed to delivering excellent clinical outcomes while maintaining a highly personalised and compassionate approach to patient care.
