About Mr William Cross
Mr Cross offers a wealth of experience in the management of prostate cancer, from diagnosis to advanced disease. He developed The Leeds Prostate Clinic (www.theleedsprostateclinic) which focuses on delivering a personalised and comprehensive service for men who are concerned that they may have a prostate condition or have been diagnosed with a prostate disease. Following a robotic training fellowship in Sweden, Mr Cross developed the Leeds Robotic Prostatectomy Programme, one of the first in the UK. He is the prostate cancer multidisciplinary team lead for Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and is actively involved in prostate cancer education, clinical service development and clinical trials. His current positions include: • Prostate Cancer UK Education Advisory Group Member • Trial Management Group Member of the STAMPEDE trial (Systemic Therapy in Advancing or Metastatic Prostate Cancer: Evaluation of Drug Efficacy) • Trial Management Group Member of the RADICALS trial (Radiotherapy and Androgen Deprivation In Combination After Local Surgery. A randomised controlled trial in prostate cancer) • Clinical and Scientific/Academic Advisory Group Member for the LAPCD study (Life After Prostate Cancer Diagnosis) Diseases, Medical Tests and Treatments • Prostate cancer treatment (local to advanced stage disease) • Robotic (Da Vinci) Radical Prostatectomy • Urinary tract symptoms • Prostate cancer investigation and treatment • Prostatitis • Telephone consultations
