Mr Vijay Jadhav is a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon with over 44 years of surgical experience gained across India, Papua New Guinea, Australia and the United Kingdom. Throughout his career, he has worked in a wide range of surgical specialties and has independently performed the majority of common minor and major surgical procedures.

He currently works as a Consultant at George Eliot Hospital (GEH), where he has been practising successfully as a General and Colorectal Surgeon. His colorectal practice includes complex procedures such as ileoanal and colonic pouch surgery, PPH (stapled anopexy), STARR procedures, basic laparoscopic surgery and advanced major laparoscopic colorectal resections. In his general surgical practice, he routinely performs hernia repairs and gallbladder surgery.

Mr Jadhav is an accredited laparoscopic colorectal surgeon and an accredited screening colonoscopist. He serves as Endoscopy Training Lead and is actively involved in multiple leadership and governance roles within his Trust. His committee memberships include the Medical Advisory Committee, Endoscopy User Committee, Local Negotiating Committee, Equal Opportunities Committee and the Associate Specialist Discretionary Points Awards Committee. He is also a member of the Arden Cancer Network for Colorectal NSSG and acts as Clinical Trials Lead at GEH for the Arden Cancer Network. In addition, he serves as Audit Lead for the Surgical Department at GEH.

Mr Jadhav is a member of the LNR Deanery Surgical SpR Training Committee and works as an Educational Supervisor for Specialist Registrars, ST1, FY1 and FY2 doctors across the West Midlands Deanery and Warwick Medical School. He is a Senior Training Partner for final-year medical students during their surgical block and acts as an examiner for ICE and FPE examinations at Warwick Medical School. He is also a Faculty Member for the Warwick Hospital/Royal College of Surgeons of England Basic Surgical Skills Course and the St George’s Endoscopy Training Unit Basic Colonoscopy Skills Course, contributing extensively to the development of future surgeons.
