Mr Martin Sinclair is a UK-trained consultant surgeon with 30+ years’
experience in upper gastrointestinal (GI) and hepatopancreatobiliary (HPB)

Training & background
Born and educated in Scotland, Mr Sinclair graduated from the University of Glasgow (1991), completed surgical training in Glasgow, and achieved FRCS (RCPSG) in 1996. He moved to Cambridge in 1997 for senior training on the Oxford–Cambridge rotation, specialising in HPB and upper GI surgery, and obtained FRCS (General Surgery) in 2001.
Research & quality improvement
As NCEPOD Surgical Coordinator, Mr Sinclair has co-authored national reports on Gastrointestinal Bleeding, Acute Pancreatitis, Bowel Obstruction, Testicular Torsion and Diabetesand Surgery, and is currently coordinating studies on the care of patients
with Sigmoid Volvulus.
