About Mr John Loy
John Loy is a Consultant Upper GI and Bariatric (Weight Loss) Surgeon at The Homerton University Hospital in Central London. Mr Loy completed his medical school in Belfast in 2002 and went on to complete his Higher surgical training in Severn Deanery, specialising in Upper GI and Bariatric (weight loss) surgery. He is trained to Royal College of Surgeons Fellowship level in weight loss surgery and advanced keyhole surgery. He is the surgical teaching coordinator for Queen Mary University Barts and the London medical students at the Homerton University Hospital and collaborates on research into fatty liver disease in with the Blizzard Institute. Mr Loy regularly appears in the media regarding weight loss surgery and is involved in training and assessing surgical doctors to perform bariatric surgery.
