About

Mr Andrew Pearse is a highly experienced Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising exclusively in knee surgery. His clinical practice focuses entirely on the diagnosis and surgical management of knee conditions, including sports injuries and degenerative (arthritic) disorders. He is based within the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, where he receives referrals from both general practitioners and fellow consultants for complex cases.

He provides expertise across all aspects of knee surgery, including arthroscopic (keyhole) procedures, ligament reconstruction, partial and total knee replacement, patellar stabilisation procedures and revision knee surgery. He also has a particular interest in managing arthritis in younger patients, offering tailored surgical solutions to preserve function and mobility.

Originally from Worcestershire, Mr Pearse completed his training in Manchester before undertaking an international fellowship in Sports and Reconstructive Knee Surgery at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand. He subsequently worked as a Consultant at the renowned Wrightington Hospital before returning to Worcestershire in 2010 to continue his practice.

In addition to his clinical work, Mr Pearse is actively involved in research and education. He has published original work in peer-reviewed journals and presented at national and international meetings. He is also a knee editor for the OrthOracle online surgical textbook, contributing to the education of surgeons in both established and advanced knee surgery techniques.

Mr Pearse is passionate about teaching and training. He established and runs the “Orthopaedics Made Easy” course, designed to support general practitioners through the Royal College of General Practitioners. He also holds the position of Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Salford’s School of Health, Sport and Rehabilitation Sciences.
