About Dr Ian Yuen
Dr Yuen is a Sydney-trained Australian Orthopaedic Surgeon who specializes in the treatment of the hand and wrist for both adults and children. He strives to deliver outstanding hand surgery treatments to the Sydney area by using cutting-edge microsurgical procedures to maximize patient function. In order to provide the best possible care to his patients, he places great emphasis on respect and effective communication. Dr Yuen is able to treat hand and wrist fractures, carpal tunnel syndrome, sports injuries, ganglions, and Dupuytren's disease, as well as complex and uncommon hand complaints. He has expertise in the use of collagenase, a non-surgical, minimally invasive treatment for Dupuytren's contracture, and he is qualified in Australia to prescribe Xiaflex. Dr Yuen achieved his medical qualifications in 2003 at the University of New South Wales before undertaking his primary surgical training at Royal North Shore Hospital. He went on to train in orthopaedic surgery with the Australian Orthopaedic Association and gained his fellowship with the Royal Australian College of Surgeons in 2012 before embarking on a prestigious hand surgery fellowship under the guidance of Professor Michael Tonkin. Following this, he took a microsurgical course at the Ganga Hospital in India followed by further subspecialty training at the National University Hospital in Singapore and Chelsea & Westminster Hospital in London.
"Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions."
