About
Dr Niket Patel's primary goal is to provide excellent care for his patients who he deeply enjoys working with and puts at the heart of the decision-making process.
Research and Academia: Dr Niket Patel is an Honorary Associate Professor at University College London. His active involvement in academia enables him to be at the cutting edge of his speciality. He has published over 50 scientific articles in peer reviewed medical journals, as well as being an investigator for several international trials. His primary areas of research are coronary intervention and physiology, microvascular function, intra-coronary imaging and myocardial infarction (heart attack). He is passionate about training the next generation of doctors teaching UCL medical students. He is also responsible for training specialist doctors in both Cardiology and Cardiac Intervention.
Training: Dr Patel completed his undergraduate education at Imperial College (BSc(1st Class) in 2001) and St George's Hospital Medical School (MBBS in 2002). After graduation, he undertook specialist cardiology and coronary intervention training in the Northwest London postgraduate training programme including Harefield Hospital. He completed a fellowship in interventional cardiology and this doctoral thesis at Oxford University Hospital.
