About Dr Konstantinos Savvatis
Dr Konstantinos Savvatis, a Consultant Cardiologist, currently works within the Inherited Cardiovascular Diseases Unit at Barts Heart Centre. He also sees patients privately in London Bridge Hospital and The Harley Street Clinic. He is a highly experienced cardiologist with a special interest in the diagnosis, risk assessment, and treatment of cardiomyopathies. He also regularly sees patients suffering from myocarditis and cardiac involvement in neuromuscular conditions. He is also very skilled in performing advanced cardiovascular MRI and echocardiography. Dr Savvatis did his medical training abroad, at the Department of Cardiology at the Charité University Hospital in Germany. This unit is world-renowned for its work on dilated and inflammatory cardiomyopathies. He has also been awarded a PhD for his work on the immunomodulatory role of matrix metalloproteinases in acute myocarditis. He has also worked as a Clinical Scientist at the Charité University Hospital and the Centre for Regenerative Therapies. Dr Savvatis is also a very active researcher, with numerous publications in high-impact medical journals - Nature, Circulation, Circulation Research, JACC, and European Heart Journal.
