About Dr Mark Westwood
Professor Mark Westwood, Consultant Cardiologist, works within several private practices around London including 120 Old Broad Street and London Bridge Hospital. He also holds an NHS position at St Bartholomew's Hospital. He is highly specialised in the treatment of chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitations, and cardio-oncology. His sub-specialism is the use of cardiac CT/MRI. Professor Westwood graduated in medicine from the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, during which he completed a MA at St John's College in the University of Oxford. He went on to do a Doctorate in Medicine at Imperial College. He holds several professional positions including Director of Medical Education at Barts Heart Centre and Training Programme Director for Cardiology in the Northeast Thames Rotation. He is also currently the President of the British Society of Cardiac MRI and Vice-President for training and education in cardiology in the UK. Professor Westwood is an active researcher, focusing on cardiac MRI. He continues to offer courses to GPs on this subject.
