Dr Luqman Khan is a highly experienced and well-qualified Consultant Psychiatrist with over a decade of expertise in general psychiatry and addiction services. He graduated from the University of Manchester in 1991 and initially pursued a career in ENT (Otolaryngology) surgery, earning his Fellowship in Surgery (FRCS, Glasgow) and undertaking research in cochlear implantation before deciding to specialise in psychiatry.
Dr Khan became a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2003 and completed his higher specialist training on a dual training scheme in General Adult and Forensic Psychiatry, with an additional endorsement in Addictions Psychiatry, between 2005 and 2010.
Since 2010, Dr Khan has worked at Surehaven Hospital in Glasgow, alongside providing psychiatric services to Dumfries and Galloway NHS Trust at Midpark Hospital, where he covers Addictions, Adult ADHD, and Prison Psychiatry liaison. He has also held clinical leadership roles with Abbeycare Scotland and provided consultation and clinical advice for Novacare Rehabilitation.
Dr Khan’s extensive clinical experience spans Intellectual Disabilities, General Adult Psychiatry, Forensic Psychiatry, and Addictions Psychiatry. He has a particular professional interest in Adult ADHD and is a member of the UK Adult ADHD Network (UKAAN).
