He graduated from Cambridge University and Guy’s Hospital, London, before completing specialist cardiology training in West London. He was appointed as a consultant in 2003 after earning a PhD in vascular biology at Hammersmith Hospital.
Dr Malik leads the Structural Heart Disease service, which includes transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI), septal defect closure (ASD and PFO), and para-valvular leak procedures. He is also an expert in Coronary intervention (PCI).
His clinical expertise covers the treatment of aortic stenosis, coronary artery disease, and structural heart conditions. He manages patients presenting with chest pain, breathlessness, atrial fibrillation, high blood pressure, and elevated cholesterol.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr Malik is active in medical education and research. He is the founder of the Imperial Cardiovascular Simulation Training (iCAST) programme and a key figure in clinical governance and training at Imperial College London. He has published over 100 research papers and is a regular invited speaker at national international conferences, including as programme director for CSI-Frankfurt. He also shares educational content for patients and professionals through his YouTube channel, LondonCardioClinic.
