About Dr David Fitzgerald
Consultant Dermatologist, Salford Royal and Fairfield General Hospitals Dr Fitzgerald studied at the Universities of St Andrews and Manchester and qualified in 1986. He then completed dermatology training at Stoke-on-Trent and Liverpool before undertaking a one-year fellowship in Cutaneous Oncology at Yale University Hospital, Connecticut, USA. He has been a Consultant Dermatologist at Salford Royal since 1997 and was the first clinical lead for the Salford Skin Cancer Multidisciplinary Team. He has held a number of management positions and is currently Chair of the Division of Tertiary Medicine. Dr Fitzgerald has general dermatology practise, covering all areas of skin disease (skin cancer, premalignant lesions, acne, eczema, psoriasis etc) with special interests in hidradenitis suppurativa and male genital dermatology.
