Mr Ellabban has performed more than 10,000 cataract operations and offers personalised cataract treatment using modern surgical techniques and premium intraocular lens implants tailored to each patient’s visual requirements and lifestyle needs. His expertise includes the management of complex cataract cases as well as advanced retinal disorders.
He is highly experienced in vitreoretinal surgery and provides state-of-the-art sutureless retinal procedures for conditions such as macular holes, epiretinal membranes, vitreous floaters, vitreous haemorrhage, and retinal detachment. He also delivers intravitreal injection therapies for retinal diseases including age-related macular degeneration, diabetic macular oedema, and retinal vein occlusion.
Mr Ellabban completed specialist ophthalmology training across the United Kingdom, Japan, and Egypt. He earned a PhD from Kyoto University, where his research focused on macular diseases and retinal pathology. Alongside his clinical practice, he serves as a Senior Lecturer at Hull York Medical School and is actively involved in ophthalmic research, education, and innovation.
He has authored more than 40 peer-reviewed scientific publications in ophthalmology journals, with his work presented at major international ophthalmology conferences worldwide.
