About Prof R M Kirby
Professor Robert Kirby is a widely trained general surgeon with extensive experience in general surgery, colorectal surgery and breast surgery. He was the first surgeon in North Staffordshire to introduce laparoscopic surgery in 1991. He has published on breast cancer, abdominal surgery, abdominal trauma and general surgery. Professor Kirby helped to develop and introduce the curriculum for the Keele University School of Medicine and teaches on surgical topics for all clinical years. He was UHNM Hospital Dean for 10 years and is now an Emeritus Professor for the University. He is a past president of the West Midlands Surgical Society and the British Association of Surgical Oncology Diseases, Medical Tests and Treatments Professor Kirby has recently retired from carrying out operative procedures. He is still available for assessment and advice. Medicolegal (Personal Injury) Breast, abdominal wall, abdominal trauma. Benign breast disease .
