General Surgery
About
I am a high volume venous and minimal access surgeon with now three decades of experience, with my practice based on the observation of, and feedback from patients.
In addition, I have extensive management and clinical governance experience across British healthcare. I Graduated from Southampton University in 1984, and then underwent specialist surgical training throughout the south of England, Europe, USA and South Africa. My higher degree was based around medical informatics and the value of expert systems, culminating in the award of Master of Surgery in 1997. I was appointed to a substantive NHS consultant post in 1996 as a general and vascular surgeon, building a successful NHS vascular surgical service over the subsequent years.
In parallel I developed an interest in independent and international healthcare, taking on roles in clinical governance and management. In 2012 I was approached to become UK Group Medical Director for Ramsay Healthcare. I has periodically sat on Royal College of Surgeons Committees
“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
