Dr. Yasir Abbasi is a Consultant Psychiatrist and the Chief Medical Officer and Managing Director of Ardens Medical Center. He specialises in General Adult Psychiatry and Substance Misuse Psychiatry, with extensive clinical and leadership experience in both the United Kingdom and the UAE.
Dr. Abbasi graduated with an MBBS from Hamdard College of Medicine in 2001 and went on to complete a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Psychiatry at the University of Nottingham in 2007. He achieved Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in General Adult and Substance Misuse Psychiatry in 2007 and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2019.
Throughout his career, Dr. Abbasi has held senior roles and contributed to policy development with NHS England. Previously serving as Executive Medical Director, he supervised multiple addiction services across the UK and has presented his expertise at the Houses of Parliament on multiple occasions. In addition, he is involved in research, holding a professorship at Liverpool John Moores University and actively publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
Clinically, he treats mood disorders associated with addiction, psychosis, alcohol and drug dependence, prescription medication misuse, and behavioural addictions.
