About

Mr Vivek Srivastava is a consultant cardiac surgeon, based in Oxford at the John Radcliffe Hospital. His clinical interests are in coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) and aortic valve replacement (AVR) but he particularly specialises in mitral valve surgery with expertise in mitral valve repair and other valve surgery including tricuspid valve repair and multivalve surgery. He also has interest in minimally invasive (key-hole) mitral valve surgery and has been instrumental in setting this up at John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford.

Mr. Srivastava has over 20 years of surgical experience, with initial education and training in India, having undertaken his medical degree in 1999 in India before furthering his training and experience in the UK. He has been awarded FRCSEd in Cardiothoracic Surgery. He has trained in mitral valve surgery at the renowned Cleveland Clinic in the USA where he also earned the prestigious Fellowship in 'Minimally invasive and robotic cardiac surgery'.

He has interest in surgical training and education and supports the professional activities of the organisations he is closely associated with. He is member of the Society for Cardiothoracic Surgery GB&I and Indian Association of Cardiothoracic Surgeons. He is also Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He has completed an MBA at Oxford Brookes University to improve his general management skills.
