About Dr Vijay Iyer
Dr Vijay Iyer is a consultant paediatrician with over 20 years of experience. He has worked within the NHS for the past nine years and is currently based at Royal Stoke University Hospital. He has a special interest in paediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition. He treats children with a range of illnesses between the ages of 0 and 16 years. His areas of special interest are: • Gastro-oesophageal reflux • Diarrhoea • Constipation • Abdominal pain • Faltering growth • Inflammatory bowel disease • Eosinophilic gut disease • Coeliac disease • Food allergies Dr Iyer also sees children with other medical conditions such as headaches, asthma, enuresis and any other issues affecting children and young people. Additionally, he offers consultations on common skin conditions including the following: • Eczema • Acne • Vitiligo • Psoriasis • Rashes • Birth marks Dr Iyer gained his MB BS from the University of Mumbai in 1995. He then undertook further training in the UK and developed a special interest in paediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition. He currently has a developing interest in paediatric dermatology.
