About Dr Vafa Pirjamali
Dr Vafa Pirjamali is a Consultant Psychiatrist with a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in General Adult Psychiatry and a subspecialty endorsement in Rehabilitation Psychiatry. He currently works as a Substantive Consultant Psychiatrist within a community mental health team at South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust. Dr Pirjamali studied Medicine (MBBS) and Neuroscience and Mental Health (BSc) at Imperial College London. He completed his Core Psychiatry Training on the South London and Maudsley rotation, gaining experience at Bethlem Royal Hospital, Maudsley Hospital, and King’s College Hospital. During this period, he was awarded Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych). He subsequently completed Higher Psychiatry Training within South West London, leading to his consultant appointment. Dr Pirjamali has experience in the assessment and treatment of a wide range of mental health conditions, including psychotic disorders, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depressive disorders, and anxiety disorders. He also has specific experience working with individuals diagnosed with personality disorders, including roles within therapeutic community settings and Mentalisation-Based Treatment services. In addition, Dr Pirjamali has a clinical interest in the assessment and management of adult attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). His practice is based on comprehensive psychiatric assessment and evidence-based treatment planning within community mental health services.
