He is a highly skilled surgeon, having graduated with his medical degree in 1997 and postgraduate training in 2003 from Madras Medical College - one of India's most reputable medical institutions. In addition, he has been the Medical Director at Bhagwan Mahaveer Eye Hospital in Chennai, India, and Vasan EyeCare Dubai.
He has extensive experience in anterior segment, oculoplastics and paediatric ophthalmology from his Fellowship training at Sankara Nethralaya, one of India's largest tertiary eye care centres. He also trained in UK hospitals including Leicester Royal Infirmary and Burnley General Hospital.
