Toby Burton
Psychotherapy
About
Toby takes an integrative approach to therapy, drawing on techniques from different therapeutic models to tailor treatment to the specific needs of each client. He incorporates cognitive behavioural therapy, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, and counselling to help individuals address addiction and related emotional challenges. His work focuses on helping clients understand how their difficulties stem from emotional, cognitive, and behavioural defences that act as a means of avoiding or suppressing their true feelings. By bringing awareness to these patterns, he supports individuals in developing healthier coping mechanisms and emotional resilience.
Toby holds a Postgraduate Diploma and a Master’s degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy and is an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). At Nightingale Hospital, he works closely with individuals facing addiction, mood disorders, work-related stress, and interpersonal difficulties, providing a safe and supportive space for exploration and change.
“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
