About Dr Tom Trouton
I qualified in medicine in 1983, training both in the UK and N America. I took up an NHS Consultant post in N. Ireland 1993 and practised in adult cardiology (subspecialty electrophysiology) until NHS retirement in 2019. I continue in private practice in adult cardiology and work with a broad network of colleagues in all subspecialties. During my time as an NHS Consultant I was Program DIrector for Postgraduate Cardiology Training for many years, was Chair of the Cardiology Clincial Network for NI and an Examiner for both the Edinburgh and London Colleges of Physicians. Diseases, Medical Tests and Treatments I currently carry out DC Cardioversions under Genral Anaesthesia for pesistent AF. I have a broad natwork of colleagues within the specialty and any of my patients requiring coronary angiography/coronary intervention, electrophysiological investigations (ILR/PPM/ICD implants, catheter ablations), complex valve interventions, cardiac surgery or advanced imaging are all accommodated.
