Dr. Tanya Bajwa is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) with an extensive background in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). She earned her bachelor's degree in Psychology from Skidmore College in New York, followed by a master's and Ph.D. in Applied Behavior Analysis from Columbia University.
With eight years of experience in the ABA field, Tanya has worked across various settings, including clinics and homes, providing both individual and group therapy to children aged 3 to 14. Her expertise extends to special education, where she served as a BCBA and Special Education teacher for Kindergarten through Second-grade students. In this role, Tanya conducted comprehensive assessments to design and evaluate programs focusing on academic, social, play, language, communication, and daily living skills. She developed Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and collaborated with an interdisciplinary team, including Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Physical Therapists, parents, school counselors, and social workers, to support students effectively. Tanya also provided virtual parent training and supervised a team of behavior therapists within the school setting.
Most recently, Tanya was the Director of Education and ABA at the McCarton Foundation, an early intervention center in the Bronx, NY. In this role, she supervised and trained a team of teachers, social workers, and behavioral therapists on implementing evidence-based programs. She developed and delivered staff training programs on recent ABA techniques for behavior management and skill development. Tanya also supervised candidates for BCBA and RBT board certification.
A passionate researcher, Tanya is dedicated to advancing the field of ABA by identifying effective strategies to enhance language, communication, functional, and social skills. She has guest lectured at various universities in the U.S., presented at international ABA conferences, and published research in peer-reviewed journals.
