He earned his basic medical degree from Ain Shams University in Cairo in 1985 and pursued specialised training in general surgery at the same institution. Dr Aldesouky completed his Master’s degree in General Surgery at Ain Shams University in 1990 and further advanced his qualifications by obtaining the Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow, UK, in 1997. In 2015, he became an Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) instructor and trainer for the American College of Surgeons.
Dr Aldesouky’s career includes time at Al Mafraq Hospital in Abu Dhabi, where he worked for 21 years, honing his skills in managing complex and critical surgical conditions. His extensive experience includes various laparoscopic and open surgical procedures, including elective and emergency surgeries, minimally invasive techniques, and trauma management.
Dr Aldesouky has a particular interest in using laser treatments for haemorrhoids, anal fissures, anal fistulas, and pilonidal sinus. He is proficient in managing all types of abdominal wall hernias, including inguinal, femoral, and recurrent hernias, as well as performing breast and thyroid surgeries. His expertise also extends to laparoscopic procedures such as appendectomy and cholecystectomy, colostomy and colectomy, and handling acute surgical emergencies. Additionally, he provides care for diabetic foot conditions and performs amputations when necessary.
