Dr von Gumppenberg has been a consultant orthopaedic and trauma surgeon for over 40 years, has previously worked at the University Hospital of Bern, Switzerland, and has been the professor for orthopaedic and trauma surgery at the Technical University of Munich, Germany. He is currently based at Reem Hospital in Abu Dhabi.

He specialises in treating degenerative diseases and fractures of the upper extremities, focusing on upper arm and collarbone fractures. Before working at Reem Hospital, he worked at well-known practices, providing surgical and conservative treatments to patients with complex conditions.

Possessing excellent mechanical skills along with great dexterity, Dr Von Gumppenberg is passionate about providing quality orthopaedic care that puts patients first. He is also a member of the Swiss German Society of Orthopedic Surgery, the German society of General Surgery, and AO International.

Dr Von Gumppenberg is able to offer video consultations to his patients. He speaks both English and German and received his Facharzt diploma in 1982 from Technical University in Munich, Germany and from the University of Berne, Switzerland.

All the operations performed on the shoulder section are carried out in close collaboration between Dr. Nagib Atallah Yurdi and Dr. Stephan.
