Ms Silvana Madi is a consultant ophthalmologist, with more than 10 years of experience, based at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in London. She has private practices at the Holly Private Hospital, The Blackheath Hospital. Her clinical interests include laser refractive surgery (including SMILE, LASIK, and PRK), cataract surgery, lens replacement surgery, keratoconus, glaucoma management, and general ophthalmology. In addition to laser refractive procedures, Ms Madi has extensive expertise in a variety of other refractive procedures such as lens replacement surgery with a variety of multifocal lens implants. She is able to offer refractive solutions for a range of conditions including presbyopia.
Ms Madi gained her medical qualifications from Alexandria University and went on to complete a PhD in cornea transplantations which led to numerous publications in peer-reviewed medical journals. She has also completed two cornea fellowships including one under a global leading corneal surgeon. In addition, she has spent two years at Southend University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as a consultant in advanced corneal surgeries, cataract, and external diseases.
Ms Madi has been active in teaching and research during her career, and has presented at both national and international meetings. She is a regional training program director in Ophthalmic Training and oversees allied healthcare professional training in the east of England.
