About Ruth Perrott MBE
Ruth Perrott is the Managing Optometrist at VisionCare Development in York, a clinic she founded to specialise in Neuro-Developmental optometry. Beyond her clinical work, Ruth has been collecting and upcycling discarded spectacles for 30 years, with the assistance of Rotary York Ainsty. She has participated in 16 trips to various parts of Africa, running eye clinics to distribute sorted and graded spectacles. This humanitarian work earned her the recognition of MBE.
